12. Brazil

After having lived in Brazil for four years, you are eligible to apply for Brazilian
citizenship; The period of four years can be reduced to three years, if you own real
estate in Brazil worth of at least US$ 200,000.
There are no actual residency requirements for investors, but they must visit Brazil
once every two years in order to qualify for PR. A “permanent visa”, such as the
investment visa, allows a foreigner to live and work in Brazil. You will be treated like
an ordinary Brazilian except for voting and political rights.
