There are a number of ways to gain Permanent Residence status in Panama through
investment. The lowest cost option is an $80,000 investment into a reforestation
project certified by the government. Investors must also own five hectares of titled
land. Temporary residency will be granted initially, followed by PR a year later.
Panama’s Permanent Residency via real estate investment route is also very popular.
Applicants must purchase real estate at or above $300,000, plus fees. La Vida offers
several real estate projects which will qualify for the programme. The minimum
amount is increasing to $500,000 after 16 October 2022. The investor and their
family can apply for citizenship after five years of permanent residency in Panama.
